You say to call them a racer is a "misnomer" ....I say call them KINGS .... Why ? There is little  to no money in Drag Racing in Thailand ...people do it for the love and or glory, or the trophy...or maybe just because they can. There are many people who spend a ton more money than I do on Racing and I applaud them ...because its these guys who develop the sport Class Racing for sure has a following...but lets be honest...its the Top  Fuel Cars in the USA that draw the crowds, ...and then there is the trickle down effect ...the guys who cant afford to or choose not to spend their money running a Top Fuel  , run a Top Alcohol, the guys who cant afford to or who choose not to run Top Dragster ...and so on and so forth ...it goes with a trickle down effect ...a Triangle model ...a few in the Top $ classes, alot in the Economy classes But its the Top classes that keep the sport alive , that keep people upgrading, and chasing up the next class....few class down ...so I applaud the Deep Pocket racers in Thailand ....When I came to Thailand  4 years ago, 11 secs was a fast Car ....now they dont get a second look at Lets switch to Drifting ....4 years ago, the sport was not well organized, cars were essentially street cars , Ceifiros, Volvos, S15s etc ....just with some different  shocks on them...I have bought many racers to Thailand to help develop the sport as well as Drag ...these guys have encouraged Thais to grow , learn and develop ..and that they have ....4 years ago there weren't any drifter s here that could compete internationally. Today there are MANY ....we now have many Thai Drifters competing Internationally and doing VERY well...however, YES..they are all Deep Pocket drifters...they have spent and continue to spend a fortune on their cars ......BUT where is the sport today .??Events that are: Are as well organized and professional as any International event Globally (yes even vs the USA)Better attendance at events than most other countries (even the USA)Competed at by drivers who will soon be at a Global standard (if they continue to evolve in the next 2 years as fast as they have in the last 2 years, you will see Thais competing and winning on a global basis) Now ....this could never have happened without people with vision and deep pockets ie ...Drift Racers wouildnt be where they are without investment in their cars....time & practise (money)Drifting wouldnt be where it is without companies like GOODYEAR bringing in International drivers to stretch locals  and organizing world class events with international judging and rules and safety standards.... My Position is ...its the "Deep pocket"  people who develop any sport ...we need them, we should love, nuture and encourage them to continue doing what they do ..its good for all of us ....Drivers, Sponsors, Manufacturers and Consumers LASTLY ....I will race you in this format you suggest ..I will run on KILL to qualify, because I can, and like to show off<img src="styles/default/xenforo/clear.png" class="mceSmilieSprite mceSmilie1" alt=":)" unselectable="on" unselectable="on" />, and I will run with the Engine only (no NOS) in eliminations, with my delay box (as do many other Thai bracket racers now) and I  chase you down the track ....
