By this I mean, a racer can run wide open with NOS&nbsp; and/or high&nbsp; boost during qualifying, but would &quot;slow down&quot; (turn off&nbsp; the NOS and&nbsp; turn down the boost if they choose) for actual elimination&nbsp; rounds which&nbsp; would be run at racer-determined 11.00, 10.00, or 9.00&nbsp; second brackets,&nbsp; with handicapped starts. Scoring would be: #1&nbsp; qualifier would receive 8&nbsp; points (plus 1 bonus point for being&nbsp; fastest), #2 would get 7 points&nbsp; only, #3 would get 6 points only, and&nbsp; so on. Then, during eliminations,&nbsp; each round winner would get 20 points&nbsp; towards their championship total.&nbsp; As you can see, there is a premium&nbsp; for building a fast truck (extra&nbsp; qualifying points), but racers would&nbsp; not have to race round-after-round&nbsp; at 100% - which usually results in&nbsp; broken race cars (especially the&nbsp; turbocharged cars), and eventually&nbsp; fewer race cars at the race track&nbsp; (because of expense) -- an endemic&nbsp; problem at Thai drag strips.&nbsp; This&nbsp; system would encourage racers to&nbsp; build ever faster race trucks (just to&nbsp; make the field and to get the&nbsp; qualifying points toward the season points&nbsp; championship).&nbsp; People who&nbsp; want to build the &quot;Fastest Truck in&nbsp; Thailand&quot; would receive the&nbsp; qualifying bonus point plus a trophy and&nbsp; cash baht at each race for the&nbsp; &quot;Fastest Top Truck&quot; at that particular&nbsp; race - &quot;bragging rights&quot; and a&nbsp; reward for their truck-building and&nbsp; tuning efforts. Plus, the fastest&nbsp; trucks have an advantage in&nbsp; season-long points accumulation, as well as&nbsp; on the track -- the chasing&nbsp; truck always has the advantage at the&nbsp; finish line in &quot;index&quot; racing.&nbsp;&nbsp; But, all the racers would not have to&nbsp; run &quot;on the edge&quot; run-after-run,&nbsp; risking continual breakage, during&nbsp; eliminations. This style of racing is&nbsp; very popular in The States now&nbsp; (Top Sportsman for &quot;door cars&quot; and Top&nbsp; Dragster, run the way I have&nbsp; outlined above) for the reasons I have&nbsp; given: you have to have a fast&nbsp; car &quot;to play&quot;, but you do not have to run&nbsp; it on &quot;kill&quot; to be&nbsp; competitive - saving money and allowing more racers&nbsp; to run more often&nbsp; -- good for drag strips and race fans (who get to see&nbsp; really fast drag&nbsp; trucks, plus actual races where the winner is not&nbsp; determined in&nbsp; advance). In this system EVERY RACER IS ACTUALLY RACING&nbsp; EVERY ROUND&nbsp; with a chance of wining (based more on their tuning ability,&nbsp; not&nbsp; entirely on their financing ability).&nbsp; This is good for the long&nbsp; term&nbsp; health of Thai drag racing, rather than the short term glory of a&nbsp; few&nbsp; who would discourage racer participation and the growth of the sport&nbsp; of&nbsp; drag racing. Maybe in the future, if this &quot;Top Truck&quot; format becomes&nbsp;&nbsp; popular and successful, there will be enough competitive fast trucks to&nbsp;&nbsp; fill an 8-truck field in &quot;Open Truck.&quot;&nbsp; In the meantime, the&nbsp; formation&nbsp;&nbsp; of a &quot;Top Truck Association&quot; would take the&nbsp; responsibility of&nbsp; managing the Top Truck portion of an event off the&nbsp; track&nbsp; owner/operators. The racers could &quot;police themselves,&quot; as it&nbsp; were.</p><p><br /></p><p>Those with deep pockets are free to go as fast as they like, I&nbsp; admire&nbsp; it, but to say they are &quot;racing&quot; is a misnomer.&nbsp;&nbsp; I empathize&nbsp; with the&nbsp; fastest truck owners: they want to race, not just&nbsp; provide exhibition&nbsp; runs.
